Engine Performance problem
2000 Rover 25 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive 39582 miles

I have had a head gasket repair done at a garage for £550 however the oil is still coffee coloured the engine is heating up and the car still jerks, the garage says it needs an oil change after 500 miles and it will be fine is this correct thankyou

I would make them do a compression test. They should have replaced the oil when replacing the gasket. It could be residue left from the old oil but the overheating and jerking is not caused by the oil and is possibly a badly repaired gasket or warped head?
