I'm trying to change a thermostat in the car listed above and it stems from a cracked radiator. I've since replaced with a new one. The overheating persists still. Coolant will not circulate into the radiator. Is there anything I can do to unstick the thermostat so that the coolant goes through the radiator, or is it a must to pull all the top end to get at it? Also, do I need to replace all gaskets hoses and clamps including the head gasket or will it go that far? I'm a weekend warrior as far as auto repair goes too. Yikes!

I am attaching the procedure for your review. It does not require taking the heads off. Only the intake plenum.

Unfortunately there is no way to unstick the thermostat if it is closed or restricted. The only way is to replace it.

Let us know what other questions you have and we can go from there. Thanks
