My car starting having random issues that resolved themselves, gas cap, passenger side airbag, power steering, etc. Then power steering became frequent to the point power steering wasn't working 90% of the time. Took it in, replaced fuse, worked for a little while, problem resurfaced in same pattern, then Check SYS charge, then would not start. AAA came, replaced battery, said even with new battery that current was not as high as could be. When I left from new battery replacement, power steering and many other issues showed concurrently, including speedometer wouldn't work, couldn't shift into higher gear, power steering out. Took back in, gave them whole chronicle story of issues, same place as before, wanted to replace power steering motor, currently there are none available, GM is supposed to get into production and build more for sale for customers' HHR's that needs fixed. Two days ago, Check Charge SYS resurfaced, then battery light, battery saver on, then bunch of stuff, can't start today, waiting for AAA to jump. Will take it in again to new place this time. I think there is an underlying electrical issue. Power steering is electrically based and is just getting tripped. Any ideas?

The steering motors are common on these cars, but we should run the codes to see what comes up. here is a guide to help us. Also I ave included instructions to replace the steering motor so you can see how the job is done.
