Me and my father replaced my rear brake rotors and pads about a year ago. In the past couple of months I have noticed a popping noise right after I release the rear brakes. I don't hear the sound while I am driving or drive over bumps, etc. To describe what it is like, I thought maybe a box I had in the trunk was shifting and bumping around. It would sound and feel like that. I am not sure what is causing the noise, but was wondering if it might be the brakes sticking or something else?
Thank you.

I'm not aware of the sunfire coming with rear disc brakes that year, so I'm going to assume you meant shoes. You need to pull the drums off and check for brake fluid that may be leaking from the wheel cylinders. Once it gets on the shoes, it will make them stick to the drum.
