I have same car,and have also ran out of fuel several times.
When trying to restart,3 things are necessary for success.
1 put minimum,2 gallons of fuel in tank.
2 car needs to be on level ground.
3 It takes about 1 minute of steady cranking before engine starts.
This procedure has worked for me 7 times over 2 years.
