Electrical problem
1997 Pontiac Sunfire 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Yes ihave to pump the the gas to get it to run .Then after it runs it will run untill you shut it of.Then you have to pump it again. I put a new o2 censor in it,had the coil pack check .And still have to pump the gas. Can someone help me out please?

Check fuel pressure with a mechanical gauge, let us know what it is.

Thank you: But there one problem there is no where to test the fuel pressure. You have to install a fitting in the gas line . I can smell fuel but the injecters are not working I think.

Check the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator for gasoline, if gas is present, the FPR diaphram is ruptured and would need to be replaced. This would let excessive gas in the engine causing a flood condition.

You have probably already checked this, but I have a similar problem after my car has its emmisions test for some reason I get oil on my spark plugs, now I always change plugs after emmisions & runs like a dream
