Blower motor switch

Pont gran prix 1997 113,000 miles with a 3.8 sc engine. Hi, My blower motor switch only operates on the highest setting. The switch has settings of 1 thru 5. For a period of time it was operating on the 3 thru 5 settings, now just on 5. Any ideas?

Sounds like the resistor pack is defective and also won't hurt to check control switch. Located at right side under the dash right beside the AC module.
