1996 Pontiac Grand Prix master cylinder

Brakes problem
1996 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 173000 miles

I have recently been told that my master cylinder is going bad on my car. I can't afford to have it fixed right now and was wondering what will happen if the master cylinder completely goes out? Will I still have brakes or should I stop driving all together?

Your master cylinder is one of the major componets of your brake (actually every part is important) sytem. Not only do you risk loosing your brakes completely, but you risk doing damage to othe things like you power booster. Try getiing the part from a junk yard. remember that gm is very compatable and you may be able to use a few other makes and models from the GM family.
