Engine Mechanical problem
1991 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

my car starts and drives fine tell it gets warmed up, then when you come to a stop and it dies. The car then starts with no problems and will run for a minute or two, while ideling. Then the car will start to hesitate or miss and dies. Then you can start the car with no problem and it does the above again.

Clean out the idle air control valve-don't work follow it with the items below

Oxygen sensor
Catalytic Converter
Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
