As soon as I turn on the heater, or defrost or the ac I hear a humming noise. It sounds like it is coming directly from the heat source at the passenger seat where the passengers legs would be at. When I shut off the heat, defrost or ac the noise stops, but immediately comes on again if the usage level is anything above 0. Can u tell me what may be causing this, and can I drive safely with this problem?

That is the location of your heater core and heater resister, yes you can drive with no worries, but you may loose heat altogether if you do not get it fixed. I cannot hear the sound so I am not sure how major it is, but it does seem to come from you heater core, not that expensive but can be hard to change. Just call around and get the best price.

If it happens with your AC then it may be the resister, I am not a pro but one will help for a small donation
