Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Pontiac Grand Am 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a Pontiac Grand am 2.4L twin cam. I was on the free way and went to give a lil more gass. Is sputterd and kinda stalled then just died. And I mean it just stoped as if some on turn the key off. I hooked a Innova CanOBD 2&1 tool to it and it came up with nothing said no DTC in cars computer im not great with cars. Any help would be appreciated

Two things you need to check. 1- do you have fuel pressure? 2- Do you have spark while cranking? If you can give us this info, we can go from there.

If you turn the key and it won't crank, you need to have your battery load tested. If it cranks, but won't start, you still need to determine which you are missing. Spark or fuel.
Fist, make sure all fuses are good
With fuel pressure, but no spark, change the ignition module.
If you have spark, but no fuel pressure, check fuel pump relay or fuel pump.
If you have no spark AND no fuel pressure, change the crankshaft position sensor. From your stall description, I think you will find a bad fuel pump. Hope this helps.
I know what you're going through over there. I'm in Minnesota.

Has the presure sure of that but I dont know how to chek the spark plug since there are not cables. The car spark blug conecters are strate and conected to the plate thats conected to the ignition set up. But I think it might be the battery. Cause I charged it and after trying to turn it on it diead fast.
