When the engine warms up there is a hesitation when acclerating and backfires. The engine doesn' quit running and finally will mantain RPM. I had the ignition module go bad and have replaced it. I have also replaced the fuel pump, filter and spark pugs.

Check the ignition coil or the spark plug wires also, always change plug wires with the plugs.

And if the module was bad the ignition coil was probably going bad also.

If its distributed, change cap and rotor. And recheck timing.
