1997 Pontiac Bonneville check engine light is on

Hello,
My check engine light just came on but the car is running perfect. What might be the problem? I checked the gas cap. I did fill it with different octane gas 87 then 93, could that be a problem? Also, the rear tail lamp sensor is on although the tail lights work fine.

Hi there,

The first thing to do is get a scan done to determine the set fault code, then you can start to do the system diagnoses to find the fault, start here.
