I was driving my car and going at a speed of 55 MPH and then my speed started to decrease so I stepped on the acclerator and nothing happened. Then my car stopped completly. I tried starting the car again and it was hard to start, but then only ran for about 30 seconds. I have replaced the fuel filter at a friends suggestion. The car won't start. Do you think it could be the fuel pump. The fuel pump was replaced about 4-5 years ago. Do you know if my car has the hook up to do a diagnostic test so that I could get a code as to what and where the problem is. If it has teh connection to do teh diagnostic test where would I find the hook up in my car? Thank you for your help.

Yes it does. Near the battery. But you'll need a hook up for it cause it was pre-OBD times. You won't get a fuel pump code. Maybe a code 42 or 12 or even a code 13. But the fuel pump tow in was a check pressure and if ok but only acts up at times with no codes or no visible problems, replace pump, screen, and new filter all three. And please do it with no juice on and safety glasses. OK
