Brakes problem
1994 Other Peugeot Models 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 212000 miles
Hi, Ive got a Peugeot 405 and here is the questions - When it is around 0degrees c out side the brakes hardly work at all. It is like there is a film of ice on the disk. Also, after about 20-25 miles there is a strong smell of diesel and hesitates to start when cold. Takes 2-3 separate cranks of 5 seconds. If you have any help on any of the questions please reply.

replace brake pads and shoes .. replace the battery and fuel filter .. also add a good fuel injector cleaner to the tank

Thanks for the reply.
It's fine now. Still takes a little longer to start than usual but is much better.
It has new brakes (everything, even down to the lines!) now and a new battery (though that was not the problem at the time). Oh and clean injectors.
