Number three and five injector circuit open. Any place to start at?

Good evening.

Start at the injectors themselves. Look for loose or damaged connector or wires.

Okay, I got the number five injector working, rubber gasket stopped the connector from fully seating. I bought two injectors that are for the 2002-2003, and think they are wrong. I am getting one new injector for number three. I have close to six volts out the plug with the van running.

They have to seat on them tight. The vibration of the engine can unseat them and not allow the injectors to fire.

Okay, you need to trace the wiring from the injector back to the ECM. Look for damage or harness damage. Check the connector at the ECM for any dirty, loose or burned pins.

Okay, I think I have the problem solved. The injector is pulsing and firing. When I remove the plug on the injector the engine does not change, but on the other four it does. Any suggestions? I am replacing the glow plugs now, I forgot to mention the glow plugs were not plugged in at the time of the problem.

While it is out, do a compression test on the cylinder.
