Car will start and immediatley quit. This may last 10-15 times before it will start and remain running. When it finally decides to keep running it will usually stall when I slow down or stop and then repeat the process, (start - quit etc) all over again. I have replaced the tps but still have a check engine light. Could the IAC be faulty? I can hear the fuel pump running and it shuts off after pressuring up when I turn the key on.

It does sound like the IAC is stuck open. If you smack it with something like the handle of a screwdriver, it may come unstuck. Even if it does, it will have to soon be replaced.

I replaced the IAC, did not solve the problem. The car will not start after it's hot. Lets say you pull in at a gas station and shut it off. It will not start up until it sits 15-20 minutes. It cranks over, fires like it is going to start but does not. Also when I slow down to stop, redlight for example, it will quit and will not restart. I took it to Advance Auto to have the code read but they say their scanner will not work on a 95 or earlier model. I'm thinking about trying the crank sensor next. Is there a way I can test it without buying one?
