Car starts perfectly. Will run in idle perfect. When accelerating in drive, car seems to cut our excessively while speeding up. Doesn't matter if hot or cold. Always starts fine but always accelerates poorly. Also, check engine light will come on after warmed up at about 70 to 75 mph and cruising. When I slow or turn off cruise, light goes off immediately. Car gets 26 mpg and always reliable even after letting set for weeks. Thank you!

I have the exact same car and when I bought it, it did the very same things you described. I took it to a mechanic and it was the mass airflow sensor. They wanted $500 to replace it. So if you don't want to spend that kind of money, I suggest you buy some mass airflow sensor cleaner and spray the hell out of the contacts, or, go to a junkyard and try and get the part. Picked one up for $25 bucks. Good luck!
