Overheating and water purging back up through reservoir tank. Water pump, thermostat and reservoir tank cap all replaced. Any ideas what is causing?

Okay. That is your problem then. I would suspect a faulty engine coolant temperature sensor preventing the fans from kicking in. You may want to first test the cooling fan relays though.
