1999 Oldsmobile Alero Can't diagnose

Engine Cooling problem
1999 Oldsmobile Alero 4 cyl 150000 miles

First thing in the morning when I start the car it goes from cold to Hot in a matter of minutes. I have checked the coolant and oil constantly. Once I turn on the air conditioning it goes back to where it should be. I take it to places and they say that everything looks fine. Could it be the thermostat?

Does it overheat? How hot does it get? Does the cooling fan come on then go off? Does it stay on all the time? Does it come on at all without the ac on? Get back to us

So when it gets hot its almost to the red zone but doesnt go all the way into it. It never smokes. Once I turn the ac on the cooling fan stays on and after that its fine but one the car sits again and I start it up it shoots right back up to hot to the point where I have to pull over and check it

I think your either low on coolant or the thermostat is sticking
