Noise From Wheel

Started hearing a loud noise from the driver's side front wheel. Did some research, jacked up the front end, and discovered a little bit of play when shaking the wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock. No play at 12 and 6 o'clock.

My question is: Do I replace the wheel bearing or hub assembly? I'm really not sure which part would solve my issue. Thank you for any advice on this matter!

Hello,

Does it make humming noise while driving? Also does the noise frequency and volume increase with speed.
Typical bad wheel bearing will make a humming noise and it will be speed sensitive.

On this vehicle the wheel bearing, and the hub assembly comes as a single unit and gets replaced as one.
