I dropped a Febreze air freshener stick down my defrost vent in my car listed above. I can’t get any air movement through my defrost vents now. When defrost is selected it blows through the dash vents. I took my car in to a dealership to have them look at it. I was told the air freshener broke the lever (or arm) that changes the vents. I was told the replacement part is $1,800.00 Canadian and the reason it is so expensive is it is all one unit. I was told the heater vent unit is all one piece. Is this correct or could I replace just a blend door or even the lever itself?

Hello,

From the HVAC component diagrams from the vehicle manufacturer which I have included in the diagrams down below for you, it would appear that both the blend and temperature control servos are able to be removed from the HVAC box and should be serviceable as separate components. Here is a link below on how to change the servos out.

Please go through the guide and look through the extensive breakdown of your vehicle's HVAC system and get back to us with how everything turns out.

Thanks,
Alex
