1991 Nissan Truck 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

What type of freon did the A/C in a 91 Nissan pickup use? I have some new "old" cans of R12 and was wondering is was comtabile. The A/C unit has never been converted.

134a is what they use these days the old r12 is obsolete and not compatible.

they sell the new stuff at walmart or kmart in a do it yourself kit.

Thanks, but what did they originally use in the Nissan? R12 or something else?

Plus if it did use r12 it wouldnt matter if you used 134 either.
