When I take a long trip. More than 50 miles one way, I notice a sound when I steer, sounds like a old door that needs oiled. I've checked my power steering fluid, and it is full. I only live a mile from where I work, so it only makes this noise when I travel a long distance.I also notice it makes a noise when I go to stop, again, only after I travel a long way.

Hi kristaderylak,

Thank you for the donation.

Symptoms described is most probably caused by a dry ball joint. Check the lower or arm ball joints for torn rubber boots. Lifting the wheels off the ground would allow you to check for excessive free play.

Steering linkages lacking lubtications, such as tie rod and ends are possible causses too.
