Almost sounds like your cat. conv. is clogged. maybe, maybe not. . .simple way to check is to unbolt the EGR valve/housing and run the car without it. take it for a spin and you'll know right a way if you get your power back. see pic. . .very easy. arrow no.1
the exhaust will come out through the missing EGR.
Also, i had the distributor shaft crack on my nissan and that cracked shaft caused a big timing problem(retarded timing). it came apart after unbolting the dist. and trying to remove it.
