My car was making this clicking sound every time I make a turn and the undercarriage plastic cover is loose and dragging the ground. I do not know if that I is the problem or not. Now today the click noise is occurring even when I drive on straight road and my steering wheel feels like it is wobbly. Car is pretty old with a ton of miles, and trying to hold on to it a while longer. What do you think the problems are? Please advise.

Good evening,

It does sound like a CV joint that is failing. You need to have them checked and see if the boots are damaged or gone.

They will have to be replaced.

As far as the plastic, that is a dust shield. You should have it removed or repaired to sit securely.
