I recently got the car listed above GT model. The gas gauge did not work because it needed the fuel pump relay that operates it. I just got the relay and my gas gauge was working reading about a quarter tank. I filled up the car with gas and the needle on the gauge started moving towards the half tank mark then it stopped and dropped back to empty. The relay is still good I had it checked. I cannot find really any information on this about my car.

Hello, I am Danny.

The gas gauge is not controlled by the fuel pump relay. The fuel pump is a part of the fuel pump assembly including the sending unit which is located inside the fuel tank. The sending unit acts as a Potentiometer which is a item that can wear after normal use. To replace, the whole assembly must come out of the tank and the sending unit be replaced. I have attached a tutorial showing what is involved. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.
