Hello, I have a 1996 Mitsubhishi eclipse spyder 2.4L it has 130000 miles and my question is this. My A/C was working fine and all of the sudden it just began to blow hot Air, and now when I first turn on the A/C it works for about 5 minutes then it blow's hot then it works again for another 5 minutes and then hot again. I had a mechanic check to see if I needed freon but was told that it was not leaking freon. What could be causing this to happen, I do hear the compressor clutch kick in when I turn on the A/C.

thank you

Well I posted this question here a while back and well let me tell you what the problem was. The A/C was working fine about a month before this happened but then all of the sudden it just stopped blowing cold air, the next day it started blowing cold air again but only for about 10 minutes or so then it would blow hot air, I took it to a mechanic to check the Freon and he told me the Freon was in it but that it might be a bad compressor, well I didn't have the money at the time to fix it the compressor alone was about 250.00 so I waited and one day I got home and noticed that the car was over heated and so I turned the car off waited about an hour and took a look and realized that there was a hose that had a very small hole in it so little by little it was draining the water from my Radiator so I bought a new hose and replaced it thinking what else is going to be wrong, well to my surprise when I started the car the air began to work, like usual I thought it will cut off in 10 minutes or so but it never did, the A/C is working Great and very cold just like it used to. Man im glad especially with this Texas heat.
