2005 Mini Cooper S 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 40000 miles
hi. when i down-shift or slow down, i hear pinging noises from the back of the car- muffler area. what could this be? does not happen when accelerating. thanks.

This can often be due to a lean mixture have this checked, you may also have a small exhaust leak up stream of the cat converter.
