1993 Mercury Tracer 154000 miles 1.9 ltr cooling fan

My tracers cooling fan stays on and eventually burns out the fan control relay in the engine compartment fuse box. The coil side of the relay stays engergized all the time when the key is turned on and if you jump it it will try to start the engine. Also the fan is not controled be the A/C switch when it is turned on.

Your fan sounld have a sensor in the engine that will cut the fan in when the temp get hot if that is gone it will come all the time or not come on at all check that first if no problem with the sensor then check the wires going to the fan for a ground
