I have a popping noise coming from what seems to be just under the petals. The popping occurs only when I accelerate quickly or accelerate from an incline. I though it might be cv joints, but I thought that popping from cv joints usually would only occur while turning. Which is not the case for me.
About the same time this started happening, I had a brake-light switch go out. I thought the two problems were related until I realized how simple the switch was to replace.
Also, about a month ago I had the flywheel and starter replaced. In the process they supposedly found 2 broken/damaged motor mounts and replaced those as well.

Thanks for any information you can provide!

Hello
Thanks for the donation.

You need to inspect the transmission mount. If they replaced the motor mounts they should have checked out the tranny mount as well. When you accelerate the tranny is probably jerking a bit because of the worn mount and it is being felt and heard through the pedals.

Thanks for using 2CarPros. Com!

That sounds logical. I went out there just now and gave it a gentle power brake, and I could hear it again. To replace the flywheel, they had to drop the transmission so it's likely that they screwed something up. I'm going to take it back to them tomorrow and see what they say. I'll update when I find out something.
