Power door locks not working

2003 Mazda Protege, about 75, ooo miles, manual trans, 2.0l engine- The power door locks intermittantly stop working on the car. I thought it was the actuator when it was just the driver's door, but now at least 3 door locks aren't functioning at any given time. Some times it sounds like one or more of the locks is trying to work, but at this point none of them are moving. Could it be the body controller, or is there something else I could try to fix?

My 2003 Mazda Protege has the same problem with one of the doors, when I use the power locks for the other doors, that door makes an obnoxious noise. What is up with that?

Thanks for any input on this problem.

I had a similar problem with my car. I don't know if this will help in your specific problem but it's definetely worth a shot. For power locks/windows/mirrors to work, all electronics in the door must be connected. If the mirror isn't connected nothing will work. You could have a loose connection. Of course it could also be another problem of which I don't have the solution. I hope that was a little bit of help.
