My car works fine till after 30 min it started to jerk and then stalls out. It wont turn on rite away I have to wait 15 to 20 min and it will start again. I took it to Autozone and it was a bad electrical connection and cpm faluire. I have the haynes manual and I took it apart to see the electrical connections. Is there a way of testin the cpm and is it part of the car computer or is it a seperate component? And would replacing it solve my problem?
Thank You for yor time to read this. Have a good day.

Hello -

If you need to get back with us, to better assist you please tell me the model of your vehicle. Is it a DX, ES, or LX. Also the engine size in liter.

The only way to test out the sensor is if you have a NGS tester according to the manual. It tests the frequency etc. Sorry. I feel for this you are better off just replacing it.

It is not part of the computer but feeds it info.

Not sure if it will fix your problem but if it is showing bad it needs to be replaced. Once it is, I would clear codes, drive it and see how it does.

Since you are at the Zone anyway and it is free, they can bring their tester out and check your battery and alternator.

Get that fixed and see how it does and then get back with us if you feel things are still not right. But... Pull the codes first to save time.
