2000 Mazda MPV Moaning sound

While the engine is idling, there is a loud--very loud--moaning sound coming from the engine area. If one steps on the gas pedal, the moaning sound disappears until idle is reached again.

Other than the sound, the engine runs fine.

Mine was doing that too, did some research and found it was a common problem. You need to replace the idle air intake valve. There is actually a mazda service bulletin on this.
