Drive problems

I have a 1990 mazda 626 lx that ahs 171,098 and 4cyl 2.2 engine that has no problems with starting but when put in drive it cuts off whats the problem?

Did the problem just come on or did it get progressively worse? When was the last time you changed the air filter, fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap and button?
If the problem just all of a sudden started one day then check for a vacuum leak at the intake manifold and your vacuum lines. If it got progressively worse start with a minor tune up, which is plugs, wires, filters ect.
