My car just started making this super loud fan noise coming from the front end, it’s never happened before. When I turn it off, I can hear the fan slowly start to wind down. It’s been one day and it’s only getting louder. There is no engine light on or anything. Anyone have any idea what it might be?

Hello,

It could be the motor has internal failure that is creating the noise, or the fan could be loose, or it is rubbing against something.

First you need to open the hood and inspect the fan. Be sure that the key is off, and the engine is cool. Try to spin the fan and listen for any noise or vibration. The fan should spin freely.
If it has any obstruction, it will be noticeable.
It is possible that some debris just got stuck and crating the noise. In that case locate and remove the debris.

This vehicle should have two cooling fans.

Please let me know what you find or if you have any questions.

Thank you.
