Just bought the car and have driven 2 days and 150miles and have noticed that a mild clinking, grinding sound from the clutch I would assume, and when I step on the clutch pedal, the sound is gone. Hvae also noticed when taking off, and taking off slow (like when you know a light about to change so you are slightly letting up on pedal and stepping on gas, but not enough to really move) I hear a 'gurgling' sound. Almost like water running thru something. The car goes into gear easy, it is a rough ride in general and very jerking shifts, which normally I can shift fine. I got 102k+ miles out the original clutch on my toyota and coulda got more if I kept it. Any help, not sure if I should keep this car, I can still bail out of purchase if I want.

Well I hate to say it buy with your discription it sounds like the throw out bearing is making noise that is why when you step on the clutch pedal it goes away. Now as for the water noise check the radiator make sure the coolant level is full.

I have the exactly same problem but I also felt that my car wasnt getting into the first gear properly, so I kind of bunny hop it like if I was a learner driver. However this makes no sene to me because Ive been driving manual over 5 years and I also had a Mazda SP23 before I traded it in for this new Lexus as well. Anyway to put my mind at ease, I took my car to Chatswood Lexus service centre and after one for the service guy test drove my car, they told me that the noise I was hearing was just normal and its most likely Im getting used to the new car gear shift. Hence, what I thought and was hearing is either plain normal or in my head. To be honest, Im not happy with their response, so Im gonna take to NRMA service centre for their second opinon. Please let me know how you went with yours. Good thing is mines still under warranty.
Anyone else have a Lexus is250 Manual? Does yours make this noise? Its not so loud but its definately there.
