Engine not starting

Engine Performance problem 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 55000 miles

Hi,

I have had an intermittent starting problem on my D3 this week. The starter motor turns as normal but engine does start. There are no system error displayed.

Usually OK from a cold start but not a hot start.

Hello,

Two things come to mind first is the crankshaft angle sensor is bad and needs replacement. Here is a guide that will show you what you are in for when doing the job. (diagrams below).

The next would be the fuel pump has failed which the pressure will need to be tested.
