Knocking noise?

The car has a knocking sound after releasing gas pedal at around 60km/hr. When you plan to stop and need the car to slow down by itself where gears change from high to low, thus a little push associated with a knock happens. I replaced all (three) mounting but the problem still persists. What should I do?

Hi,

I assume the mounts you mentioned are the motor mounts. So, if that is tight, then we need to consider other components that are directly affected by throttle position.

Have you checked all front-end components such as control arm bushings? Also, the front axle joints could have excessive play. Have they been checked?

The Yaris wasn't offered in the US, but I believe it is the same as the Echo, which we do have. I attached a pic below. Check the items I highlighted for evidence of damage or excessive play.

Let me know what you find.
