Wont start

i would check the battery just to make sure you have 12 volts , then check the hot wire on the starter solenoid with someone turning the key should be 12 v there also

did the engine make any noise or anything before it died ??

My wife had the car that day and don't recall any noise. Just to add this. I just removed the spark plugs to inspect. Plugs '3' and '4' looks as if the pistons took a wack at them. Do you think this could be part of the problem? I will also check the voltage, if I can find my volt meter.

if the spark plugs have been impacted dont worry about checking the battery or starter , it sound like you may have broken a timing belt , let me know

sounds like the timing belt did break, also
2 things caught my attention
1.Turned key, only got clicking from starter, and lights dimmed.
2.It tried to turn over and stopped.

might be a liitle more than a timing belt now,
take it to a mechanic you know you can trust, and have them look at it.
