Door lock replacement instructions

My boyfriend has the car listed above around 2001-2006 (not sure of the exact year). The automatic lock has been not working for some time but the manual key part is not unlocking the door when I stick it in the drivers side. The key isn't even turning. I've inserted it both ways and nothing. Why can't I unlock the door?

At this point we need to replace the lock cylinder as it is most likely locked up.

However, before you do this, try spraying some WD 40 in the lock and then put the key in and work it back and forth. This should loosen it up and allow you to get more life out of it. This is only a temporary fix as it will lock up again but this should buy you some time.
