Key Fob not working?

I am new to the key fob thing. It will unlock just fine it was locking the doors but then it quit so I put a new battery in it, and it still doesn't lock the doors.
How do I know if something is wrong with the key fob or something else?

It sounds like an issue with the fob itself. The same controls are used for locking and unlocking on the vehicle side and if the locks work using the switches in the doors, then that part is working. I would visit a locksmith who does vehicles. Most will have a receiver that will allow them to test the functions of the remote. They can also make you new ones if the one you have is bad.
