After my cars battery dying on the weekend and getting it replaced, the buttons on the remote no longer lock and unlock the car. They light up on both the main key and spare yet I still have to manually unlock the car by inserting the key.

Was hoping there was some sort of reconnecting procedure as the nearest centre that fixes these is almost two hours away.

The battery change should not have affected the remote and I would suggest checking the fuses first.

If fuses are good, try cycling the ignition on and off up to 10 times and once you hear the siren beeping, keep the ignition turned on and press the arming/disarming button and if you hear any beep, turn ignition off and try using the remote.
