There is a starter relay. Also, have you checked to make sure there is power to the starter in the start position?

Took it to a mechanic. He installed an ignition actuator and an ignition starter switch. I can see where casting broke on first piece nothing visibly wrong with second
I do not know if was a rare occurrence but parts $75.00 and labor $80.00.
Thanks for your help,
Richard

Where would the clutch safety switch be located? What does it look like and would this prevent the car from starting? Could there have been an attempt to steal the car that would have put the car in some sort of security shut down?

Possibly a security issue and could also be one of the following; starter motor, starter relay, clutch switch and ignition switch.

What exactly is it doing? Cranking over and will not start or just will not crank at all/nothing when you hit the key to starting position.

Four Wheel Drive Automatic 64,800 miles.

Hello!

I was driving my car to the grocery store last night and when I came out my car would not turn over. It is making a loud clicking sound. Last night the radio and all the interior lights turned on and stayed on. This morning I went to try again and it is making a new clicking sound and the light are flickering on the interior. Is this my battery or alternator? I just received a new battery about two years ago. I have not yet tried to jump my car because my boyfriend is telling me it will not do anything. Should I try this first?

Hi, I would have to make sure the battery has a full charge. If not, I would take the battery off and get it charged. With the vehicle running, check the charging system.

Part of the lights and radio coming on, may have to do with your theft/security system, where applicable? Have all trouble codes checked manufacturer specific as well as generic.

Will not start even after running a few minutes prior. Battery and relays are good and everything electrical in the car works, but it still will not start. Any advice?

Do below to determine whether it is a spark or fuel problem.

Get a helper disconnect a spark plug wire or two and ground it to the engine, have helper crank engine over do you have a snapping blue spark? If so you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer.

Wife just got home and said she had a problem with the vehicle especially when she put it in reverse (?) But seemed okay in "drive" but was a problem again when she backed into the driveway. I went out and tried to start the vehicle to see what was wrong and had to start it twice after it conked out the first time. When I did I noticed a trace of smoke coming from underneath the hood so I immediately shut the engine off and opened the hood. When I popped the hood there was what appeared to be oil all over the engine compartment. What do I do now?
