2002 Jeep Laredo fuel pump cut-off switch

my car had to have a new radiator, ac condensor, etc. Put on, when he got it put back together the engine will start, but acts like its out of gas and will die in just a few seconds. He seems to think that I need a new fuel pump, but could it just be the fuel pump cut off switch needs to be reset?
