This is a 95 Jeep inline 6, 4.0, 4x4 with 127000 miles.
I live in MI and have allowed this vehicle to sit thru the winter and never started it. Prior to the winter the plugs, cap, rotor, coil, and wires were replaced. The alternator went bad, so I replaced it and it started right up, no problems. However, while driving it, it dies. Filled the tank and added a dryer and now its worse. It stalls at stop signs, red lights, driveway, and turning corners and while driving it. Replaced idle air control motor and fuel filter, but it still stalls. Sometimes it will start right back up, other times it won't for 10-15 min, and other times it will stall immediately after restarting. Check engine light never comes on and there is no fuel odor. Fuel pump seems to work. RPM's right under 1000 and when it is not stalled, runs very well. Can you help me.

Am having the same problem with a 94 Cherokee sport. By what I've been able to find on the various forums around the web it's a crank position sensor. That and they say there is a 20 amp fuse in the engine compartment power distribution box that is for the engine protection controller. They say the fuse gets corroded. Since your jeep sat for a while, I'd start there. I think the box has a fuse diagram in the lid to tell you which is which.
If it's the crank position sensor, it's a beech to get to, it's located on the drivers side of the bell housing. My JC has a AX15 manual tranny, the only way I see to get to the crank sensor was when I was doing a clutch and had the tail of the tranny pointing down. Not too sure how anyone could get their hand down between the firewall and under manifolds to get to it from the top.

Not sure if your year Jeep has this, but my 1988 had a white resistor mounted to the fender just behind the battery. If one of the two wires worked a little loose I'd have exactly the same problem.

Hope this helps.
