I have a grand cherokee that is making a loud vibrating noise when I am stopped and in drive. When I put it in park, it gets a lot quieter. I have checked the exhaust to make sure it is not rubbing anywhere ( which is what it sounds like) and checked the motor mounts and tranny mounts, which are good! Any ideas what else it could be?

Have you been able to isolate the noise to a specific area underneath? (Front, middle, back). If not, are you able to crawl underneath with the jeep in Drive and someone inside with foot on brake you can TRUST(heh, heh.) To find the noise?

Seems to be the front-- my brother crawled under and can not find it, says it sounds like it's in the front but is vibrating all the way to the back door! Maybe torque converter bolts?
