Check engine light

I recently aquired a 1990 Jaguar XJ6 but it has a cicuit failure and check engine light on.the on-board computer told me fail37,fuel37.in the Jaguar manual that meant the EGR is the problem,what should I do now?

While I have no Jag Experience. I can offer this: Egr valves on domestics can be removed and cleaned of the carbon. The egr passageways can also be ceaned out with intake cleaner , small brushes, pipe cleaners or other tools depending on the build up.
