I have a 2000 gmc sierra v6 4.3 1500, it was missing a little around 1500 rpms and I came home one Friday and parked it and it sat all weekend and then that next Monday I went to start it and it wouldn't start so I checked oil and things like that and they looked fine so I have replaced distributor cap and rotor and it started right up well now its idling really rough and making loud backfiring sounding noises out of my flow master, and might I add that it got really cold that weekend, but I don't know what to do I need help?

With idle issues check for a leak of some kind. Check idle air system, check fuel, check for egr leak, check vacuum leak, could be a valve issue?

How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? Some of the national brand auto stores will check codes for free.
