I have been experiencing problems my car vibrating at high speeds, steering seems a little loose. It would make crunching noise when turning right, my roommate tightening up some things and that symptom went away, but it still vibrates, it is also leaking ATF from the CV Joint Seal, the CV joint were replaced 1 year ago and the boots still look brand new, we just replaced the Seal last week and we are still losing ATF, curious if it possible that we were given the wrong size Axle, and that could be causing these issues or if the vibrating and losing ATF are separate problems. We are going to pull out the axle this weekend and compare with an original ordered in from the dealer, to cross out if it is a size issue, if anyone else has anymore advice, I would great appreciate it :)

Hi sfs_greenbean,

If the vibration is speed specific and occurs under all conditions, ie with or without accelerator pressure, the problem is most likely to be caused by wheels out of balance.

If vibration occurs only during light acceleration and goes away as soon as the accelerator is released, then it could be the CV inner joints. Check the inner CV joints for excessive side play or lack of lubricants.

To know if the seal is of the correct size, get a vernier caliper to measure the seal seat diameter on the CV inner joints and the inner diameter of the seal.
